I work in series and sequences making drawings, paintings and photographs on site and developing them in the studio. I use oil paint, mixed media, photography, lino, silk screen and digital ink jet prints.
My work is about the fragile, transitory nature of time and the enduring essence of memory.

Egypt,
I lived in Egypt between 1989-95. Egypt magnetises intertwining past and present with momentary images of contemporary life co-existing with the remains of ancient civilisation.
My work utlises fragments and details of weathered, vandalised and restored icons, together with movement, light and atmosphere around living people. The images are often of women and female deities. Subjects are form the temples, tombs and museums of ancient Egypt; Coptic; Graeco-Roman and Islamic art; the street; markets and festivals.

Gardens
I work outside in gardens, bringing me close to the long tradition of British artists working in the field. This work is about renewal, utilising the changes in light, atmosphere and seasons .
